Assignment 2.Greeting Card

Basically, before this i was thinking of doing a festive greeting card, which is Ei-dul Fitr, then, i decided to change my idea because festive greeting card is often made n use. So, I decided to do a Mother's Day card. The reason why i chose to do a Mother's Day card is to show how important mum is and how much she meant to us in our daily life. So, this is for appreciation to our beloved mum after all that she done to us.

Here are the steps of making the Mother's Day card.

First, set the paper size to a4. Then, rotate it to 90 CW and click view>new guide to make the page into half of the a4 size. To make it more accurate, go to view>show>grid.

Secondly, I decided to apply light green for my background as it makes the viewer's eye feel calm. I use brush>adjust blending options>adjust opacity

Third, I draw the border for the front cover using Adobe Illustrator and drag it into Photoshop. I use pen tool and apply artistic effects.

Fourth step, I import a picture a flower that I search earlier in Google image.

Fifth step, I copy the flower image and use the eraser tool to erase the unwanted flower and only take the flower that I want. I paste it according to the position that I want and adjust the opacity to make the flower a bit invisible.

After placing the flower, I insert the text "Happy Mother's Day" using Horizontal Type Tool.

After the front cover is finished, I apply a dark green color as a border using brush tool. I continue for the upper, lower, left and right border by copy and paste it at each corner.

I inserted a Mother's Day poem that I found from a website in the center of the inside cover.

I repeat step 5 and copy and paste the flower image according to the position that I want and it's finally done.

On consultation 3, I started doing the greeting inside the greeting card.

Here, I edit some star effects to make it more attractive.

Masking

I choose picture 1 for my masking technique as the background. After that, I type the word CIRCUS and add picture 2 to the second layer. Make sure the text written must be below the picture 2 layer. Then, right click and click create clipping mask. Next, to add more effects to the picture, I apply filter and then it's finally done.

This is just a draft that I made. I'm not sure what seasonal greeting card to choose yet, but this is just one of the example that I've made.

Special Effect

Assignment 1.E-Wallpaper

First, I select a picture as the background.

Second. I drag and paste a picture of Faculty of Management that I took earlier and drag and paste it into the background. I used eraser and select a faded brush to make the border a bit fade.

Third, I used the rectangle tool and select a color to make it look antique by choosing the color brown, and adjust the opacity.

Next, I create a new layer, used brush tool and select flower brush, stamp it below the image and drop the opacity.

After that, I used magic wand to erase the unwanted part of the border and drag it into my wallpaper. I rearrange it at the upper left and right side of the wallpaper.

Finally, touch-up my e-wallpaper, I used the horizontal type tool to insert the text. I highlight the FOM word and change it into red to make people who sees it attract at the red wording. Plus, I used blending option to make the shadow.

Retouching an Old Photograph

BEFORE

STEP BY STEP

1.First, I used duplicate default image to make the face.

2.Second, I used eliptical marquee tool and select the area that I want to adjust.

3.Third, I select filter using gaussian blur. By using eraser, I clear out the eye and mouth area because I want to erase the unwanted spot.

4.Fourth, I used the spot healing brush tool to clear the crumble image on the picture.

5.After that, I crop and adjust the picture in a correct position.

6.Next, I combine all layers using shortcut Ctrl + e.

7.Then, I used clone stamp tool to draw the eye brow and adjust the color tone in every part of the face.

8.Finally, I used level setting to adjust the color.

I've been asked by Madam Lydia to do some retouching in this picture which is by removing the person and also the text, all left was only the sea water.

AFTER

I've used the stamp to clear the unnecessarily image and Horizontal Type Tool to insert the wording "HAWAII Land of Aloha.." and this is the result :)

My name is Noor Maslina Bt Md Damiri.

This is my 3rd semester Beta Year.

I'm currently majoring in Bachelor in Multimedia (hons) Media Innovation & Management.

I've learned Photoshop before but not good at it.

I hope I can learn and gain more skills and knowledge by practicing the exercise given..
